lots and lots of no sleep went into this one. take it as you will.
So I've taken to asking myself the timeless question of "why are we here?" lately. I don't know what it is. Perhaps it's the realization that my life here really doesn't mean all too much. How well I do in school, how that whole social interaction thing. I don't know if these are all natural, if they're instinctual. And if they're not instinctual, then why do we bother dealing with any of it?

Basically, there's nothing to say that a human needs to have a college degree to be successful, nothing to say that one needs any social graces, that one really needs to do anything. But society deems that we need these things, so we do them.

Really, what makes humans different than other animals? Why do humans get to wear clothes and build buildings and have sex for fun? Is the world, the universe really here for us? Are the dolphins and the mice really running the show? Whatever. As long as there are humans on the earth, and as long as those humans believe that they are the most intelligent creatures around, then there's really nothing more to be said.
