a friend? no. more than a friend.
First met Kristie at the activities fair thing that was help to help all of us freshpeople decide what it is we wanted to busy ourselves with for the next four years. went to one the student theatre tables and talked to someone about lighting, tech, all that fun stuff.
i got a call a few weekends later. do i want to work on a show? Sure. Why not. agreed. and forgot. overslept (started a trend early). so i found her and appologized. i think we've been friends ever since.
She really knows her shit about theatre. A talented lighting designer and all around tech, she wants to go to grad school after this place so she can really focus (haha, no pun) on lighting design. i admire that. I don't think i can deal with any more school. She really knows what she wants. And she can do it.
Really good person to be friends with. She works too hard. But when you're in trouble and need a friend (or orange juice, or medicine), she'll drop everything to make sure you're all right.
She tells me that i do good work. gives me the confidence in my designs that i need. Tells me that, in fact, my lighting professor doesn't think i'm a complete idiot (even though i did sleep through most of class).
Used to be a tool of the theatre (or so she said). Over-extended herself. Damn near killed her. She took a semester abroad, to go to Russia. Really found herself there i believe. Came back happier than i had ever seen her. Dropped all of the things that she had to do and started to do things that she wanted to.
She's got herself a boy now. He's (they've) got a house. Mmm... house. I still only see her when we're working in the theatre. This is a bad thing.
But who has the time? (make the time)
Friends like these you need forever.
more friends? nah, home
