another kind of me

a trip through me

friday, june 26, 1998, 02:49

finally a bit of change in my life. danny and i headed down to lupo's for a night of, well, not exactly anything, really. one of those supposed alternative dance party things, which really just translated to a lot of hip hop and house, which was interesting seeing as it was all actually live mixed, but still, not really all too exciting as the music was pretty much crap.

looking through this smoke filled room, i was hoping for a glimpse of anyone attractive to look at, to stare at, to even dance with, but not too surprisingly, nobody really remotely interesting caught my eye. of course in a room of over-weight girls in too-tight pants and way too much makeup, this is hardly a shock. but there was always that chance.

after standing around for most of the evening, though, i have come to the realization that it just isn't my crowd there. especially not on a thursday night. problem here is that whole "underage" thing which prevent me from going out to more mellow clubs or bars where one might actally be able to just sit around and meet people as opposed to being pelted with guys expressing their disappointment about not having "fucked in two days."

hrm.

leaving there in a sea of bodies streaming out of the club into the humid night air, we headed back up to school and ended up stopping off at a party which we knew to be in progress and stayed there for a while, sitting, sitting and watching drunk people attempt to walk. and drive. not actually realizing until too late what was going on, and not having the right nor the muscle to stand up and do anything, i watched as a fairly drunken individual got into his car and drove his drunk companion away, only to watch them both coming back minutes later, him in his own car, and his companion following close behind in his.

this was seen as a bad, but justified thing. "oh, when you're drunk..." seemed to be the prevailant opinion among the witnesses to this. what? i was slightly sicked by this, and just hope that nobody gets killed tonight on the road because of this.

sheesh.

(and on that note...)
