wednesday, june 3, 1998, 03:02 back to a life of modem speeds and tying up the phone line, i'm reminded of when i first got my modem and i would spend long nights dialing bbs after bbs, hoping that my mother wouldn't hear, carefully figuring which files i could download in the time allotted to me for the day and hoping that the connection wouldn't get cut off before i got the next piece of the six part set of the latest hot download. i haven't called a bbs since i discovered this internet thing. hrm. you know. this is actually the same modem that i used to use to call those bbs's. once i found out that my gateway modem was a piece of crap that didn't connect to anything, that is. i finally got my machine set up. well, it's sitting in the study right now, but i think that it's going in my room later. or not. i don't even know. i have to get this place organized a bit more before i can even think about things like that. well, that, and i need a bit more furniture on which to put my stuff. because i have a lot of stuff. and incredible amount of stuff. i'm not actually sure where all of this stuff came from, but there's more stuff here than i've ever had in my life. or so it seems. castelle told me that he wanted to write my entry for tonight. he said that it would be funny, that he'd write about how i did nothing all day and then went to a diner and listened to him talk about bermuda. and i resented that. a bit. spent a lot of money today. that's what we did. danny paid today. i paid yesterday. seth paid rent. now we have to all sit down and go through all our crap and figure out exactly what we all owe each other. because it's pretty crazy, all this money flying around and all. enough to make a person want to move back home. but not quite. but walmart and sam's club now have our money, and we have large foam fun noodles. a fair trade. and a lot of ramen. and bottled water. which i just don't understand, but as long as seth's paying for it, i have no problem. and then sarah came over to use our shower, since her place doesn't seem to have hot water or electricity yet, and we watched, again, empire records, because really there's no reason not to. it was at this point that castelle came over and we went to the diner. the more and more i walk around this place, the more and more fun i'm having. this is going to be one phat pad. phat pad? oh dear.
