I forgot to mention this a while back. I had a dream about Britney Spears. And lest you think that this is merely search engine fodder, allow me to assure you that I did, in fact, have a dream that featured Ms. Spears and, in fact, she remained fully clothed throughout. Interestingly enough I do not recall any additional facts about this dream other than the realization that we actually just called her Britney and that she was just hanging out with us. Her pop stardom was never considered in our relationship.

Also featured in this dream was a sudden realization that working for the company for which I was working (in the dream) was in direct violation with the non-compete agreement that I had signed with my former (and now defunct) employer (in real life) and that I would have to stop immediately. What is so shocking about this particular dream is that a) I would have any thoughts relating to my old job or the legal documents that were signed while in my employ there and b) that I should have dreams about Britney Spears and a non-compete document and the latter should be the one that I remember so clearly.

...

I don't meet nearly enough cute girls, and when I do meet them they are mostly taken and/or off-limits. The most recent one was probably both but no matter. Really, now that the weather has cooled down a bit, I think the hormones have also slowed a bit as well. Also, I still have not had opportunity to transport my couch from my parents' house to mine (got a van? email me) which would make any sort of entertaining an uncomfortable prospect at best anyway, so it is just as well that I have not had the chance to invite anyone back to my place. In that way. You know.

Also, I hooked up a cable to my television and found that there is actually a signal running through the line. Is that ok? Are they going to bust me?

This evening I went to see a performance by a group called "Liquid Ensemble." I probably enjoyed about three quarters of this relatively free-form jammy experimental pots-dragged-on-the-floor stomping and clanging musical experience. While the set occasionally fell into the realm of pure noise with seemingly no correlation between different pieces being played, it stayed for the most part in the realm of calculated improvisation. When the noise got too much to bear it seemed as though the musicians were playing what they felt would be appropriate with no regard for the other sounds being played. When the five artists decided to work together, however, the sounds were an eerie mix of bells and drums and audio distortion, at once dissonant and melodic, if you can believe it.

Conclusion: enjoyable.

And they have no web site it would seem. Two theories emerge. Either the lack of a web presence goes along with the entire image of the group: improvised, a moving target, or it is because nobody has taken the time to actually set one up.

But branding! Where is the branding?!

Things I need:

Oh yes. And sleep.
