Much fun has been had over the past couple of days, but I would first like to note how much of an absolutely bonehead I actually am. First, I got DSL in my apartment (oh happy day!). Next, I got DSL working with my Linux machine (oh happy day!). Next, I found that DSL broke my internal network (oh no!). Next I trouble shot everything and could not for the life of me figure out what was breaking (oh no!). Next, I was on the phone with my parents and found that the cable to my laptop was loose and that this might be causing the problem (yay!). That was not the problem (no!). I surfed the web and found no help at all (no!). Then I looked and saw that the computer was not actually plugged into the network after all (huh?). I plugged it in tight this time and it worked (yay!).

I am a fool.

11:14

There was a sunset a couple of nights ago.

Having gotten that out of the way, a short list of what I have done over the past couple of days, not in list format. I danced like a fool and helped set up a party, not in that order. I went to see Dogstar, live in concert, and had a realization about the "shared experience" that I am so enamoured of. I'm sure there is something else in there, but for the life of me, everything else has just turned into a mess of memories.

I also had a strange dream involving me, running away from people because someone had messed with my DNA and they thought I was someone else so I was running through a field (weeds?) and ended up under an orange tree with a cell phone that I turned off and placed under the tree so they couldn't track me with it and I took a flying leap off of a cliff (after crossing a road where they could seem me - fear!) and fell down following this tube that would lead me to the particle masher which was going to put me back together as me. I hit the bottom, opened a hatch, climbed in, and got zapped back to my normal self.

Then I woke up and couldn't feel my arms.

I feel like this is a metaphore for something.

The other night I went to the American Legion where I was told that they, the people I was going to meet, were coming back later. I went for a roll. Rolling feet. Along a bumpy bike path. Along a river. I watched people. I sat on the bench and watched the people row by. Down the river. Then I rolled back, exploring the other side of the river watching the rainbow and the lighting in the approaching storm.

Again at the American Legion, on the patio, we sat and waited. Waited for the approaching storm. Waited for the people to get back with the keys to the van. We watched the sky, split along the river, one half blue, the other gray with clouds. And the clouds turned blue, and yellow. And a full rainbow appeared. I'd never seen one of those before.

We set up for the party. I, finally, touched theatrical equipment as I ran audio cables and raised lighting trusses. Finally knowing where to plug things in, how to run cables so they wouldn't get stepped on. Being part of the group that brings you this production. Finally being part of the thing again.

The music started, and I did not dance too much. The music continued and I started to bounce. Later, I would dance full out, letting the music take me, first taking cues from the people dancing, then taking the cues from my feet, my feet that wanted to move and wouldn't take no for an answer.

We danced under the star-filled sky while people spun fire on the bank of the river.

And then it was over, and we took it all down, and I stayed late because I felt like I was part of it, part of the group, part of the experience.
