the waxing moon shines brightly tonight unencumbered by passing clouds. looking out there reminds me of a still autumn night with a cool breeze passing through my window. ah, the point. the point is that there is a double moon in my life tonight as the image is reflected off the second pane of glass in my window.
minimoon.
on my way to work this morning the sun was shining and the world was happy. well, most of the world was happy. i mean i was happy. but it was beautiful and warm and made me feel like smiling. the problem was that i was afraid to smile at the people on the street because they all looked like they were housing schools of their own personal demons (hoards of demons?) and i didn't think that i really wanted to get in the way of that. where are all the happy people? i want to see happy people!
the man sat in an old model ford, probably from the early 80s and sorted the mail. he was a letter carrier of some sort, and the mail for the day was sitting in the passenger seat of his car. he was smoking a cigar and i could only imagine what those letters must have smelled like when they reached their final destination.
the old gentleman who used to sit in has black cadillac in the parking lot of my office playing loud italian movie like some guy in one of those mob movies who knows he's done someone wrong and is about to get offed by some equally bad guy named vinny doesn't seem to be around any more. maybe he really was offed by some guy named vinny.
after visitng with friend jen from risd last night and having a fabulous dinner and seeing her off in her poor little car who is trying to say "put me out of my misery!" i decided to go for a little walk around my little neck of boston to see what sorts of unsavory types were out on a saturday night.
i found college students.
i only hope that when i was in college the people who lived around me didn't think i was as annoying as some of these people got. but then again, i was rather enjoying the conversations these kids were having, living vicariously through their drunken stupors.
there were no fewer than 60 people lined up to get into a bar. packed next to an express mcdonalds and a discount shoe store, this bar (the "wonder bar" which i always read as "wonder bra" every time i walk past) is nice and upscale the way that nothing else in the surrounding area is and it's fun to watch all these people lining up to get in to pay for drinks and stand around. i mean, it's not like it's a club or something where there are more interesting things to do. drink and stare at the cute girls' butts. or is that the girls' cute butts?
walking further, a strapping young lad asked if i would perchance know where he could find a head shop and i, being the misinformed one that i am, appologized and went on my way, only to check just now what a head shop actually was.
(for those as unhip as i in this particular field, a head shop seems to be a store which sells smoking implements "for tobacco use only" though we all know what these THREE FOOT BONGS are actually being used for.)
well, except for me. i wouldn't know what to do with a three foot bong.
(i'm covering all my bases in case i decide to run for president some day)
"well you see, his web page SAID..."
err.
right.
time for some rockstar sleep stylins.
