another kind of me

a trip through me

wednesday, december 30, 1998, 04:32

i keep telling myself, after reading don't sweat the small stuff... and it's all small stuff that what i really should do for my personal peace of mind and health is to start going to bed at midnightish every night and waking up at 5am in order to recenter myself and and give myself time in the morning to unwind before the day begins, which should make me a lot less stressed during the day.

i don't suppose i have to note that it is now four thirty in the morning and i've not been to sleep yet.

a trip to the dentist today proved quite worthwhile as now i have an appointment to have all four of my wisdom teeth removed because, well, it'd be a good idea and besides, i'm still covered by the family insurance, so i might as well get it out of the way since i'm planning to move up to boston and not have a job for a little while. so to get those expenses out of the way all early-like seems like the way to go.

and there's always that little nagging in the back of my head which is asking why exactly we're ripping out these four teeth from my head where they've been going about their business so kindly for the past couple of years. and i've been convinced that it's because left to their own will, these teeth would cause Bad Things (tm) to happen down the road.

as long as they give me something for the (hehehe) pain, it should be fine.

the last little bit from the day is a reminder of how helpful people can be as long as you're nice to them. after three hours at the dentist, i decided to pop over to the friendly neighborhood electronics superstore to return an adapter for my cd player which was sold to me because the salesperson had no idea what was goin on. ahead of me on line was a man quite irate over the fact that they were going to take $12 off of his espresso maker refund because he did not have his receipt. so, while he was bitching out everyone and their mother, i quite approached the counter and asked for a refund. after convincing the customer service people that indeed the adapter was the wrong one, and after convincing them not to plug the power into the headphone jack, i was given a credit card refund on the item as opposed to a store credit.

i attribute this all to niceness. aww yeah.
